From Brand Name to Generic - BP Rising
I was on Avapro for about 8 years 150mg twice a day; my BP was well controlled. My copay for 30 days supply was $43 Dollars. Then my insurer mailed me a letter suggesting I change to a generic and my Avapro copay increased from $43 to $80.
My Dr prescribed Losartan 50mg once daily which seemed to be a rather small dose. 30 tablets cost $8 I switched to Losartan; I split the tablets and am taking 25mg twice a day. I have been on Losartan for 2 weeks now. I just measured my BP with a manual cuff and the earpiece thumped loudly when the Systolic reading was 140; with the Avapro I could barely hear anything when to dial read 130. My next Dr visit is 06/05/2012.
