ARS manifests as Pharyngitis?

Hello learned ones,

I am back to worried status. It has been 4 months and 10 days since my last exposure (which was fingering a girl for about 30 seconds). I tested at 2 months and 28 days negative. For the last three days I have had real bad flu like symptoms such as fever, cold, cough, sweating, diarrhea, nausea, etc.. I went to a doctor and was surprised to be diagnozed with Pharyngitis because I totally expected it to be the flu what with this being the flu season.

I was actually hoping it would be the flu because then I would not need to consider ARS at all considering that everyone is getting flu right now. But now, I am scared to hell because Pharyngitis has no real cause and can happen pretty much for no reason.

So do you think I should be worried about ARS? Should I retake the hiv test?

Thanks a lot.

Re: ARS manifests as Pharyngitis?

No you should not be worried, and no, you should not retake the test. You shouldn't have tested in the first place. Fingering is not a risk for transmission unless of course under some extreme circumstances that you did not have. Pharingytis is not ARS related.

Re: ARS manifests as Pharyngitis?

dearest wfw,
you are not at risk. you have a better chance at winning power ball in all the states that have it all at once than getting HIV from fingering. people get the flu, or pharangitis and other stuff everyday. that is why OTC cold and flu medications are a ka-billion trillion dollar industry. i haven't seen an ad for ARS tylenol yet, have you? moral of the story is YOU ARE FINE......!!!! go enjoy the holidays and if you are that worried, use your fingers for pointing from now on.
