I had an unprotected encounter 11 years ago and to this day it haunts me. I remember getting a flu like illness around this time but not sure exactly when. About 2 years after this encounter I had some dramatic weight loss, I was exercising but it seemed quicker and easier than it should have been. I am never sick and just had a blood test and lymphocytes were normal and so was my WBC. Is it possible to have no symptoms and nothing show on a CBC after 11 years?
A CBC is NOT a test for HIV/AIDS. The blood test for HIV/AIDS is very sepecific and has no connection with a CBC. You need to request a test for HIV/AIDS and must sign a release before they can draw your blood. Get tested if you are concerned that you may be positive. HIV/AIDS is often asymptomatic. It was is my case. I had no symptoms when I was diagnosed in 9/2001.
11YRS and no real symptoms? I'd say your 99.9% in the clear. If the HIV virus was left untreated for 11 Years then statistically you would have AIDS by now and have an extremely compromised immune system.
I personally don't think you have the virus. By now I'm SURE you would have experienced some forms of sickness, illness, infection, etc.
You can take a very quick, simple, 5 minutes HIV test at your doctors to be completely sure, but in this case, I really don't think you have anything to worry about.
Weightloss, well that can be due to many factors, mentally and phsyically. I'm 25 and use to weigh 79KGS. I now weigh 64KGS and that is from extremely anxiety, though I often thought HIV! - We often make up silly symptoms and convince ourselves we have some terminal illness.
Take the test if you want to be 100% complete sure, but I think your fine and just self-diagnosing something that doesnt exist!
