Here is my story. On July 16th, 2004 received unprotected oral sex and performed unprotected very brief vaginal sex with female of unknown status. The lady is 42 years old and is very thin and does not look healthy at all. I was drunk, what was I thinking. The brief vaginal sex consisted of inserting twice for a period of about 10 seconds each, no thrusting, no ejaculation, no STD's on my part. After about week 2 I started experiencing mild night sweating. Did not drench the sheets or really even get them wet. My t-shirt collar was damp and my legs were sweath and my torso was a little sweaty. After awaking they would go away for the rest of the night. This happend about a year and a half ago when I was going through some anxiety and stress. ( I have been tested several times since a year and a half ago..negative) After about 4 weeks I started getting flushy or hot feeling off and on trhoughout day. These episodes would last for about 10 or 15 minutes each. I am not sure if this is consistent with "fever" or not. At week 6 my tonsils started to ache a little bit (off and on throughout day, starting to feel a little better now, I have had severe post nasal drip almost all summer long) This past Monday, Sept. 13th in the evening I started experiencing loose stools. Not watery, just looser than normal about twice daily.
I phoned the girl about 3 days after being with her and asked to meet. She did meet me and stated that she does not have any disease. I could tell she was upset that I even called her to ask her about that.
I have since confessed to my girlfriend what I have done and she has forgiven me. She is a RN and works with HIV infected patients and states that my stuff is nothing but Anxiety, Stress, Guilt, Sinsus problems, and Hypertension. I keep picturing her unhealthy appearance everytime I think about it.
At 26 1/2 days after possible exposure I had a PCR and Elisa test done. Both were negative. Can I find some comfort in these tests until my 3 month mark comes. I need answers, reassurance, something. I am losing my mind. I realize that everbody is different but is it consistent with acute hiv syndrome to display symptoms one at a time for a period of over 7 weeks. I have had the flu before and I have not once felt flu-like since the possible exposure.
