Anyway, a week after that, i developed a virus called Herpangina. It's a virus that usually only little kids get, totally went away in less then five days. No fever or rash, just a sore throat and swollen lymph nodes.
Mod~ZillahPartner of encounter agreed to get tested He was negative and so was i, which for a normal person, means i am okay. But i still cant sleep at night, and have since broken up with my girlfriend. This is all i can think about.
My options are as follows:
- I can feel like crap for the next 4 1/2 months until the i can take the ELISA
- I can feel like crap for the next 1 1/2 months until i can take the OraSure test again
- I can take the PCR test, which i have heard has a high error rating.
Can anyone fill me in with info on these different test? I've been searching for more info on the PCR because i have found little info on it.
Any help/support appreciated.

(((REMOVED))) Anyways get tested at 3 months for a all std's. Since your friend tested negative for hiv, you are probably fine but he could have other std's which are easier to get

Wether or not i am straight and what this means as far as my sexuality goes is the least of my worries. Given my current frame of mind, i dont want to have sex with anyone for a very very long time.
((REMOVED)))No big deal.....well, it isn't if it's protected which you found out. Take your tests, sounds like your negative but reasure yourself. Good luck. (((REMOVED)))

I just want to make sure i am okay. Nothing else matters to me at this point. I cant focus on school, work, or anything for that matter. Im super-stressed, if there is such a word.
Anyway, thank you for the support. I havent told anyone i know about this because i fear they will focus more on the ACT itself then my fear of having aids.

If you can't wait then go find a Gen 4 ELISA, also known as a DUO. They test for antibodys and the P24 Antigen (viral parts), at 4 weeks if it comes up negative then most likely so are you. The Gen 3 ELISA uses an antigen sandwich and can very accurate at 4 weeks as well, but the 4th Gen test can show positive in infected individuals in as little as 6 days.
