I am a male who has had unprotected sex with 3 females. By this statistic I should feel good about my result but where is this statistic supported? That statisctic is from the thread posted at the top of the HIV/AIDS

I don't remember and don't feel like searching right now since I'm about to sign off, but I did read that stat in a number of places by using Google to search. I tend to believe it since I've read that from multiple sources.

Though if you're that worried, I wouldn't go searching the Internet for information...it doesn't help at all.

I have read that statistic in many places too.
But once you start sowing the seeds in your mind that you might have it you will go crazy - so don't.
I can't say you ain't got it - what makes any of start this route of thought though ?
I have had unprotected sex with a few women in the past and never bothered about it.
Guilt is what started this off for me - because this time I had cheated.
So unless you are really concerened - stop worrying - and start using a condom !!!

Also, please don't start your own "research" into this on the Internet though.
Stay on this forum for advice and support - but don't be tempted to read the Internet - you will find so many symptoms and a lot of conflicting information.

That's cool, I got tested just to help aleviate my general anxiety disorder and purely peace of mind. Plus my wife and I want a kid so it's better to be safe than sorry. I probably am putting too much thought into it.

I was just astounded by that statistic and was afraid that if it were incorrect that heterosexual men would be more confident and go without condoms. Even so just wear one. Everyone, please.

I'm not sure where you got the statistic but I think it does need some clarification: Typically, woman to man contact decreases the opportunities to contract the virus. Man to woman increases the chances. Receptive oral sex woman to man, or man to man is virtually a no-risk (although I would suspect that there are a case or two when the transmission occurs). Receptive anal, man to man, man to woman, increase the chances significantly.

Of course, we have to look at hypothetical risk vs actual risk. chris
