Unhappy White blood cell count low

This just happened to me , I had a lab test that came back showing my WBC count is low...around 2.5 or so and below 3.8 is considered low. The 2 other tests for WBC were also low , I forgot the name of them. I have no other symptoms , I have been losing weight but I am on a stict diet for the last 2 months and have also been exercising more then I ever have in my life over the same period of time. I have had risky sex though , just oral sex without a condom with a few street walking girls and 2 or 3 times intercourse with a condom on ( the intercourse was almost 2 years ago , the oral about 6 times over the past 2 years ). I took an HIV blood test today to see if that is why my count is low and I am waiting for the results. On a different HIV board they told me that this is not a sign of HIV and that my behaviour was very low risk. Does anyone here concur or disagree with that advice? I am just a tad nervous and looking for a little more support without driving any one board too mad with the same question over and over again. Thanks for any replies..either way I will know within a day or so I guess. If its not HIV , which I think it is as I have a bad feeling about it for a long time , then what could it be? I wonder whats worse , HIV or Cancer?

Re: White blood cell count low

i agree with the advice you have been given, oral sex is considered a low risk and there are not many reported cases of it passing on hiv. i don't think it points to cancer either, have you asked your doctor what it could be?
that would be better then guessing.
good luck

Re: White blood cell count low

My doctor hasn't a clue , the first thing she thought was HIV since I mentioned my sex habits that I described above. I am worried sick no matter what it is.

Re: White blood cell count low

Can anyone else give me some feedback , I only had these somewhat risky sexual encounters since around Jan 2006..so its around 18 months , isn't that way to short a period to be seeing huge weight loss and WBC going way down? My numbers from just 2 months ago are fine , 5.5. 2 months later 2.5. Any ideas while I wait for that dreaded phone call?
