Nervous/Guilt - HIV Prevention Message Board

I am a 25 year old married male that made the ultimate stupid mistake and had a one night stand exactly two weeks ago, with a 39 year old woman. We had sex twice, both times starting without a condom, but quickly putting one on, she performed oral sex on me twice without a condom. She says she is 4 months removed from a 12 year marriage, and has only been with one guy since the marriage ended. She also stated that she recently went in for routine checkup and asked them to run a HIV test, which came back clear. I am hoping this is just my guilt getting the better of me, any words of advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your chances of getting HIV from what you describe are very very slim. I wouldn't worry about it.

I would worry though that you be more careful. It's ok to play around with your own health but to risk the health of your wife without her knowledge is pretty heartless. You could have HPV (genital warts can be passed to you even if the female has no symptoms),herpes, trichomoniasis, or chlamydia.

i would get tested anyway. how well do you know this lady? well enough to know what she told you was the truth? did she show you the papers stating she was negative? i wouldn't just "assume" she was clean and that your chances of having it are slim, i'd go get tested and make sure. it would be a very sad thing to find out the lady you slept with did have hiv (or any number of diseases) and that you now have it and pass it to your wife. if i was you i wouldn't risk my wifes life or health, i'd go get checked just to be safe about it. good luck, and God bless!
