I ama gay guy and I was involved with a guy who is HIV+ I let him penetrate me several times and we ALWAYS practised safe sex. We were going out for approx two months and broke up at the beginning of the year. Over the last couple of weeks I have been feeling increasingly ill. first of all I had severe headaches and the my glands under my neck were swollen. More recently I have been having shooting pains all over my body and the pain has travelled up form my legs right into my eye ( I know it sounds weird) My eye was really bloodshot last week and friends who thought I may have been obsessing have started to get concerned. I have tried to stay calm as this may be much ada about nothing but I am startign to get a little scared. the pains are not as intense as they were to begin with but they still are intense. I am worried, scared and unable to think straight. Does this sound liek the onset og HIV?

The only way to find out if you have HIV is to go get tested. Go the the CDC website at [url="http://www.cdc.gov"]www.cdc.gov[/url] and view the section under AIDS/HIV for more info. To get tested:

The CDC National AIDS Hotline can answer questions about testing and can refer you to testing sites in your area. The Hotline numbers are 1-800-342-2437 (English), 1-800-344-7432 (Spanish), or 1-800-243-7889 (TTY).

Get tested. If you do not have HIV, you should still visit a doctor for a checkup. Remember the only way to know if you have HIV is to get tested. In the meantime relax.
