Just like a post a little while ago...I had mono in January...In March I had sexual intercourse with someone I did not know. The sex was fuly protected and condom did not break. I am now experiencing dry mouth when I wake up in the morning, a cough sometimes with flem, floaters in my eyes swollen glands (possibly from mono) I have been looking all over the net and Just am so worried. I have gone to my one doctor and she thinks I dont have it but I am just so worried it is effeciting all aspects of my life. Should i get a test now? How Accurate will it be? Anyone think that I have it or dont? Can someone out there please help...Can someone just respond to help me...I am in desperate need here. Thank you all so much

You used a condom, therefore it is almost impossible you have HIV. Your symptoms such as dry mouth and eye floaters have nothing to do with HIV. Eye floaters are sometimes linked to CMV which alot of people have anyways, but couldmean maybe you need t osee an eye DR. If you are that worried about it then take a test but the CDC does not recommend one.

So you dont think i have it...Even if i have swollen glands...but i guess they could be from mono...I am at 7 weeks now...Can i get an accurate test or should i wait 3 months...Please help

You could get a baseline test now if it would make you feel better, but an accurate test would be 3mo and 6 mo after possible exposure. I don't think you have anything to worry about. I think your symptoms from the mono are flaring back up from worry.

Would it be possible for the baseline test to show a positive, if it was there?
