Post Advice needed urgently, Francis, Babyshan, SaltySam, Anyone.........

Hi guys,
I know I've been a nuisance to you guys for the past few weeks. But I just can't get this off my mind. Yesterday, I went to see a doctor(a urologist) because I've been experiencing some pains around my groin area, below my belly, my knees were also feeling weak and pains under my armpits. He did a check up on me and told me that I have an inflamed prostate. He said it is quite common for a person who contracted an STD to have inflamation of the prostate. In my case, this was probably due to the gonnorea infection I had about three weeks ago. He also went on to say that when a person contracted an STD, he or any other doctors would assume that the person would have contracted something else (multiple infection) with the STD. It could be the HIV, Hepatitis, etc. I was scared to death when he told me that. Then, I told him about the results of my blood tests which was done on the 5th week and 7th week. He told me that the results were not conclusive at all and it's too early to tell if I have contracted any other form of STD with the Gonnorea bacteria. He said Gonnorea is so easily treatable that it is very uncommon for people to have the Gonnorea bacteria only. Normally people with easily treatable STD, like the Gonnorea will have multiple infection. He said the window period for HIV sometimes could be 6 months to 2 years. He said those who show symtoms within 4 to 6 weeks after contracting the HIV virus are normally "acute cases" or people with weak immune system. When I think back of my possible exposure, I don't know if I contracted the gonnorea bacteria from the unprotected sex with the one night stand on the 5th of March or from the unprotected oral sex from the escort girl(but protected penetration) on the 3rd of April. I had the Elisa (HIV1&2) and VDRL test done on the 9th of April and on the 23rd of April. If I contracted the gonnorea bacteria from the one night stand, then I would have tested on the 5th and 7th week after exposure. But if I contracted the gonnorea bacteria from the escort girl, then I would have tested only after about the 6th day and the 20th day after possible exposure. Is it possible to contract the gonnorea bacteria and the HIV virus from the unprotected oral sex I got from the escort girl? I am scared to death now.. I think I'm dying because I might have contracted Gonnorea with something else. Guys, please advice.. What is the likelihood of contracting HIV with the Gonnorea bacteria? Were my blood tests at 5th and 7th weeks or the 9th and 20th day after exposure meaningless? Is it true that only those with weak body immune system show HIV symtoms at the 4 to 6 week period? Is it also possible for people to show symtoms but test negative on the Elisa test? Please advice guys..I am feeling terrible now. It's like all hope is lost and I'm going to die soon..

I hope my opinion brings some comfort, but remember it is just an opinion. First of all, I'm not sure who performed the oral sex, you or her, but either way chances are lower of you contracting HIV or Gonnorhea. If you performed oral sex on her you would have gotten Gonnorhea of the throat rather then the genitals. So chances are it came from the first girl. If she did it to you then I don't believe she can give you Gonnorhea through oral sex, but I could be wrong. Let me also say that I've worked with many dr's and have seen many patients with different STDs. I don't think your dr explained things correctly. When you are diagnosed with an STD you always have to assume there's an underlying infection...like Chlamydia. It doesn't mean there definitely is, just that if you don't assume and test you could miss something. Now onto the subject of HIV. Everyone seems to have different ideas on the testing policy...some people have said you can test as early as 28 days later while others stick to 3mo and 6mo. I think that is the best plan to go with. If it's good enough for the military, then it's good enough for me. I believe you should try to relax in the mean time, easier said then done...I know I've been there. The more you stress the more you may notice you have symptoms that mimic HIV, this doesn't mean you are crazy or +, stress brings on symptoms that are like that of HIV. With experience with HIV + friends you will have a pretty assuring result by the 4th month. Try to stick it out until then, 4 mo after the second female. If it's - then you are probably ok, but still get another test at 6 mo just to be sure. I hope this helps a little!!!

I hate to insult a doctors medical opinion but honestly he doesnt sound to me like he is very educated in the area of infectious disease. First off it does not take 6 mos- two years to seroconvert. At most it takes 3-6mos, Another thing what do you mean that most ppl dont show seroconversion symptoms? He is obviously misinformed. It makes no differenc what the sate of your immune system 75%-90% do show the initial flu like symptoms. If you have insurance I suggest you get a referal to meet with an infectious disease doctor. If nothing else it will steele your mind to these out their observations made my your PCP. Please dont stree your test results are a good indicator of what your three month test will reveal. In other words I THINK YOU ARE NEGATIVE!!!! my boss (an infectious disease doc) is sitting here scratching his head at the level of idiocy this doctor is displaying. HIV IS NOT AN EASY DISEASE TO GET!!!! you probably dont have it. Having ghonorhea does not mean you have HIV or Heppatitis.
