Comdoms can prevent HIV right?

There is a slight chance that HIV can be passed through a condom. It is recommended that you use condoms that contain nonoxynol-9, which can kill the virus before passing through the condom.

HIV does not pass through latex or polyurethane condoms. In fact there are studies coming out saying that Non-oxynol 9 may be harmful to the condom. Non-oxynol 9 kills sperm, not HIV. Nonetheless, condoms 99.9999% of the time will prevent HIV transmission.

Here's some information I copied from recently posted websites. Hope this helps educate some of you:

In a letter to the editor, researchers from Family Health International, in Research Triangle Park, N.C., state that research by Dr. Knut Wittkowski and colleagues, which concluded that nonoxynol-9 used without condoms may reduce the risk of HIV transmission, may be premature.

Studies have found condoms to be 96% effective against HIV transmission with consistent and correct use.
