Post Upset at posts made by Mr. Devine.

Greetings,

OK... I am really upset with some of the postings of MR. DEVINE. There is misinformation in SOME of his responses, and therefore his -opinions-, which is what some responses are, should be discarded. This forum is for people who want sound advice which is relayed from the CDC and the body, and AVERT, and AEGIS. The advantage to the healthboard is a real person is responding. Mr. Devine has mentioned some truthful facts, and many inferences. PLEASE do not listen to this person, as his views are bias, and therefore flawed.

Informer, signing off for tonight.

I also agree. I do realize that one reason we have so many different opinions from health professionals is due to everyone wanting this to be their way. There is so much research going on all over the world people tend to speak what they've incorrectly learned rather than what may actually be true. The opinions on this subject can go on forever and I think people should state that what they are given is an opinion. If it's approved and confirmed by the CDC then by all means state it as a fact per the CDC. Me personally, I wouldn't go with too many people's advice on here because they seem to mislead people into thinking they will be fine. In most cases that may be true, but what if it's that 1 in 8000 (or whatever the statistics show now) that you are leading in the wrong direction. Everyone needs to accept what they have done and face that the chances may be there, whether low or high risk.

Please don't misunderstand me...this is a great site to come to for support and advice, however, don't put all your confidence in some things that are posted on these boards.

Let me just add...this post is based on my opinion. I haven't researched HIV in quite some time. I do have a best friend that is +. As well as I've worked in ICU and watched people pass on from what AIDS can cause. I was also in an intimate relationship with an HIV+ man. I don't have all the answers and I would never say I do. Research or not...unless you have some certification that allows you to counsel others in some way legally, you are merely posting an opinion. If it is a fact it should be supported with additional information...phone number, website, book! Good luck to all of you experiencing tough times right now. My prayers are with you all!!!

I believe I need to agree with posters above. Most of us here posting are not boasting of years and years of expertise on the subject, like Normo mentioned on another post the guniea pig thing looks kinda murky. Anyway, the point is, that in one way or another we have had some sort of personal experience with it.

I would like to think that 2 decades of constant and repetitive study...by health organizations, would yield an unquestionable, reliable base of information, Then you see all the infected, dying people, every freaken year, friends and relatives gone because of AIDS and you get to wonder, in which planet does Mr. Devine do his research?

It is true, and Normocrazy will agree, that sometimes, even among us that share particularly the same line of information, there are disagreements, which again like she mentioned, we promptly try to confirm with the latest and widely accepted information, sadly, this does not appear to be the case. But it does demonstrate the need we have for reliable information.

Mr. Devine said one thing that is correct. Anybody has the right to believe anything they want. So all we have left to do is share what we know, what we learn every day, and if at all possible, document the sources. Responsability to believe it is on the reader.

Best wishes.
