I have read that one time single possible exposure is less risky than multiple exposures, either through MANY sex partners, or from many sex acts with ONE partner. I understand that. What I dont understand is that, through HIV counseling, tests within the three month window period for the people with single exposures, or less chance of exposure,less risky behaviour, are counsled to recieve a single test, and they dont recommend testing at 6 months, but people with a chance of repeated exposure, more risky behaviour are consuled to re-test. Why? Is it because the multiple exposure to HIV causes your body to fight it less quickly, or is it because the risky behaviours mean they could have been infected recently and are unaware?
