Is it possible to contract HIV through oral sex?

by receiving oral sex? theoretically? yes. In real-life scenario, very very improbable.

by giving oral sex...a bit more probable, but still a the lowest rank in the risk scale, if tehre is such a thing.

It's just that the 'girl in questions' boyfriend mentioned to me that he had recieved oral sex on two occassions whilst seeing the girlfriend and since they had the STD test a year ago. Bearing in mind i only penetrated her for a couple of seconds (3 at the most), do you think this should worry me?

Saliva is not a "good" carrier of HIV. In other words, it is difficult for HIV to survive in saliva, and not in a high enough amount to transmit it. So, the chances you friend contracted it is VERY low. Anything is possible, but in the case of HIV and oral sex, unlikley. Dont worry about it. It is more difficult for a man to contract HIV in the first place, and transmission through oral sex is slim. Good Luck and Be Safe.

hey maybe helpful,

is still harder for a male in insertive oral sex. i thought it was only in vaginal? because vaginal secretions have a lower amount of virus than semen.
wouldn't all saliva be the same?
