Its possible that the thrush and the yeast infection were related, as thrush is just an overgrowth of yeast, wich occurs through out your body normally. It is a delicate balance to be maintained, and many things can throw it off.
Testing and waiting are VERY difficult to do, but it will be worth it. I have children also, and about a year and a half ago I had a low risk possible exposure, and was VERY scared for my children. My test was negative, but I spent months after words convinced I had it, and had given it to my kids everytime they were ill. Time heals, and after I learned to trust my results, I was saner, and my kids have been ill, and I have not panicked. Even IF, IF you have it, it is unlikely you have passed it onto them.
As for testing in the military, I heard that they test before they accept them in, but I dont know after words. Someone said they test them 1 a year for as long as they are in. I dont know for sure.
