I had been seeing a woman for almost two years. We had unprotected sex. When the relationship ended, I decided that I would test to be ready for my next relationship. I tested negative about 3 months after our last encounter. She is now pregnant and says that everything is fine. The only question I have is that I had a temp of 99 degrees when I tested. Is it possible that I was still in ARS. I had no other symptoms at the time. The doc said that they didn't even consider that a temp. What do you guys think?
Doc's right. 99 is not considered a fever. You tested neg at 3 months. ARS does not last that long. It's been reported to last from a week to 14 days. Just a little question. Who's pregnant?? The lady you used to see? or your current partner?
Its not a fever untill it surpasses 99.6. ARS appears between 2 and 4 weeks after exposure. And a fever will not affect your test. 3 months is nearly conclusive.
Also, as for her pregnancy, they will OFFER her an HIV test on one of her first visits. She can decline, but it will be offered. Its a CDC recommendation.
