oral sex with a friend

when i was around 15 i started talking about sex and masturbation with my friend at school, which led to us meeting up and giving each other handjobs. we began to give blowjobs every now and then, neither of us had had sex at this point. in the last 3 years since i went to uni we have met up only twice i think, maybe 3 times, and we gave each other a blowjob each time. im not gay but its just like a habit from school really.

anyway i had never really given HIV any thought until i happened to stumble across it on the internet a month or two ago. the last time we had oral sex was in july, and before that was probably a year gap or something. in this instance he sucked me until i came, and i only sucked him for about 30 seconds, he didnt come. of all of our meetings in the past i have *** in his mouth maybe only 5 times, he has never come in mine as i said i was not comfortable with that.

i have had a sore throat for about a month now, it started as a cold and turned into a sinus type thing, where i had intense pressure in my head and around my ears, before leaving me now with this slight sore throat. it has improved but is still there, the doctor said my throat is a little red and is probably the end of a viral infection, and to just rest up. it has been the end of term at uni which was heavy with work and also partying, so i dont think this helped.

i rang up my friend the other week and he said he had never been tested for HIV. we are both 20 by the way. he is still a virgin, but has done stuff with other guys before, but it was when he was at scouts when he was about 14/15 with others his age. he said none of those had ever had sex either, theyre all close friends of his.

i do have a tendency to worry about things, but just wondered realistically whether you think there is any chance i may have contracted it? it does seem to get worse if i think about it, and i cant help looking stuff up on the internet although that just makes me worry more.

thanks for your time

Re: oral sex with a friend

Not a professional here, but am a person living with HIV. First, there is no website that can diagnose HIV by symptoms or by one's history. There is no professional who will do that either. The only way to know for sure if you are not HIV+ is to have an HIV test. Second, HIV is not the easiest virus to catch. Particularly if one has not had unprotected sex with an infected person. From what you've indicated, it sounds like you haven't. Finally, HIV concentrations or viral loads not only vary by infected person, but by the different fluids in an infected person. Studies done have shown that pre-ejaculation has little concentration...generally believed not enough to infect an otherwise un-infected person.

As I stated earlier, the only way to know of infection is by an HIV test. It sounds like you should be OK.

Good Luck,
doingfine

First off it sounds like you gay! even if you say you're not the fact that you and your buddy have oral sex kind of makes you gay. not a big deal but i felt it needed to be said.

anyway from what i've read the saliva in your mouth or acid in your stomach should have killed the virus. that's assuming that he has it. which isn't very likely because he says he's still a virgin.

all that other stuff put to the side it's a good idea to get tested. they sell tests you can buy in the mail or just go in and get tested. even if you don't think you have anything it's always a good idea to be tested.
