pcr test after 90 days conclusive?

my last encounter with a sex worker was october 7. after a week ive been having malaise, muscle aches. i had my elisa test done 3 times, twice november and once december its all negative, and finally i have my pcr test done last jan 14. and it was zero. are these test conclusive, my doctor told me that im reassured that i dont have anything, they also did all kinds of std test and none of it is positive. except EBV and CMV. can EBV be the reason why im feeling weak and have some acne in my chest? or is it hiv?

Re: pcr test after 90 days conclusive?

Franz,

It depends on if its an active infection. They should have tested for Igg and Igm. This will tell you if you are experiencing a recent infection or a past infection (could be 20 years ago). EBV can cause mono like symptoms and CMV usually doesn't cause infection in immuno-competent individuals. However, there are some case reports of CMV causing illness in immuno-competent individuals and is thought to cause approximately 8% of mono infections. Most of these mono-like cmv infections are misdiagnosed as EBV infections and are under reported.

you don't have hiv if you have tested negative that many times.
the tests are very accurate.
as for what is causing your symptoms is something you should be taking up with your doctor.
