Please answer! What is my risk? Oral swab test reliable?

Hello all .. This is my first post.
Here is my story that has me in a worried well of hell...
I had unprotected oral, Performed oral on csw for a few seconds only Over a year ago.
I had protected vaginal sex wit csw in the past. six months ago (i dont believe the condom ever broke)
I had several handjobs from csw in the past all with oil.
Could you guage my risk for HIV from these instances.

I had negitive Oraquick oral Rapid test 12 weeks past last expouser. three months ago. I know this test has had some issues with accuracy. Any new development. can it still be trusted?

Thank you..

The reason Im concerent again is I have been losing weight the last two months and I think my Lymph nodes are swollen...

Re: What is my risk? Oral swab test reliable?

the oral test is the most sensitive of the hiv tests out there.
i know it is reliable in your case,
because the only way sexually that has been proven to infect you
is by unprotected oral or anal sex.
you did not do that
so you had no risk to get hiv in the first place..
good luck

Good new buddy, your HIV negative. The test is FDA approved so its realiable and used regularly

Oral has no risk, or a "therorectical risk" From woman to man its zerp risk. As yet not one reprted case of HIV transmission via oral sex. Besides, your results are conclusive, and your HIV negative

the oral test is the most sensitive of the hiv tests
meaning it will give out the greater possibility of a false positive
on a result.
that is the main reason it is used first.

when you get a positive result on a oral test
they will then need a blood test to follow up to confirm hiv.
they won't go by the oral test results alone for a positive result.
so even if you had a hit on a oral test
does not mean you have hiv untill its confirmed.

it has been found extremely accurate on the negative result side
so no follow up is needed..

there have been extensive studies done
and the findings are
oral sex is a theroretical risk that
has not been proven to be a way of transmission.
until is has been proven,
it will be considered no risk for hiv infection.
the only proven ways sexually are unprotected anal and vaginal intercoarse
thats it!

Re: What is my risk? Oral swab test reliable?

awsome!!
thanks alot you guys!
a Couple last questions and ill leave you alone..

So you feel my risk did not need testing in the first place. so my 12 week rapid is considered conclusive?

I know your not Dr.s but do they ever comment or give you guys advise. Do Either of you have any sort of medical or teaching background?

In your time giving advise has anyone ever came back and said thanks for advise but test came back pos anyway!!??

yes --no risk
yes,12 weeks is a conservative number
alot of the newer tests claim they are conclusive
in alot less time.

I know your not Dr.s but do they ever comment or give you guys advise. Do Either of you have any sort of medical or teaching background

i have been infected for 13 years and
i have been a hiv study subject for that long.
some of the people i work with have been working and studing hiv
from the beginning and have about seen it all at one time or another.
so yes i get my information from the horses mouth
research doctors...

i'm not into sharing my hiv
so being the selfish person i am...,i learned as much as i could so i
could keep it all to my self.

In your time giving advise has anyone ever came back and said thanks for advise but test came back pos anyway!!??

i have seen a few people come back and say they
tested positive.
every one of them was told they HAD a risk for getting hiv
before they came back with the result.

so far i have yet to see someone who was told
they had no risk to test positive.

we pull no punches here with what the facts are..

it would be much easier and safer(for me at least)
to say you were at risk and get tested, wouldn't you think?

no, i stick my neck out because the facts hiv transmission are true and have been researched..
and the known facts haven't let me down ONCE yet

Hiya. Yes i dont think you needed testing and yup 12 weeks is fully conclusive. Yes their has been one person who came back positive, but we all knew that was a high risk situation. As smit says, we are always honest and never give false hope, or false panic.

So for you, sleep well your HIV negative
