6 week negative 4th gen test conclusive?

I think some of you may have read my previous post about my hiv scare, of unprotected oral (msm) me giving, no ejaculation.

anyway i have had 2 tests

3 weeks post exposure (4th gen duo) - negative
6 weeks post exposure (4th gen duo) - negative

my sexual health advisor was surprised to see me return and joked about it 'not you again' in a friendly way of course. I also made it extremely clear to her and made a point about asking for guidelines with testing.

She said that here in the UK, testing guidelines will soon be changed in terms of the 3 month window period. she said with the UK's testing technology, 6 weeks is now pretty much conclusive. I asked 'will i need to return for another test after 6 weeks?' and she insisted 'no.' not even a, 'you might want to test at 3 months just to be sure'. The answer was just an outright NO, and she said in her experience a 6 week result is conclusive.

is this true?

Well you didnt need to test in the first place, so any testing in your case for HIV is pointless. As you have tested twice with the duo and at the said time scales its very clear your HIV negative.
She is correct that the guide lines are now being in the process of being reduced in time and indeed its very conclusive that if you test negative at 6 weeks, then your tests do not change.

So time to move on regarding HIV

ok thank you...that is a pretty bold statement to make to tell me NOT to return for any more tests after this 6 week negative. i've read that most places still consider the 12 week/3 month test the definitive test.

if whatever reason i seroconvert could i take legal action against my sexual health clinic ? :)

Facts and logic i've read that most places still consider the 12 week/3 month test the definitive test. For thoses that had a risk, you didnt.

if whatever reason i seroconvert You wont could i take legal action against my sexual health clinic ? Well why would you think about that? Bizzare ! :)
My last post on this thread. You had no risk, your tests have shown that. The clinic have made it clear not to waste their time again as their is no point in doing so. As for late sero, never in million years. Best advice i can give is move on. You had no risk and your tests have proved that. Besides, the other person was 99% HIV negative!
Over 1million people a day have oral sex, none get HIV. You being the first..
