Protected sex with sex worker... Now worried about flu

Hi, last Wednesday night I had oral sex (I was receiving) and then vaginal sex. I had condom on the whole time. I also wore socks and pajama (I cut a small hole for my penis to come out. The oral sex probably was less then 3 mins and the vaginal sex was maybe around 5 mins. Once I finished, I started taking off the condom with my hand (thumb had a small wound but had banadag wrapping it). I then used paper towel to continue taking the condom off and cleaned my penis shaft with wet paper towel. I remember taking the bandage off somewhere around that time. later I took a shower. Yesterday, Friday, a week and 2 days later, i started getting sore throat and I had trouble sleeping either due to fear, anxiety or I was just sick... Today I feel worse. I feel tired and parts of my body feels sensitive and sore... Could I have gotten hiv? I am so worried and I have a wife... I don't know how to explain to her when I will use condom with her... I know I will never do such stupid thing again but now I am scared and I have to wait at least weeks before I can take rapid hiv test (from what I reseached). And could I also get hapitites which has flu like symptom too?

Buddy the fact that you wore socks and pyjamas is irrelevant. What is relevant is the fact you wore a condom. You had protected sex, protected means you were protected. No matter what you mix to this your risk of an HIV infection is zero.

Let this go and get on with your life, you have no HIV concerns.

I read that some STD can be transmitted from skin to skin contact so I was being extra careful I will not be doing this anymore as I feel guilty and my wife is the best for me. I hope I will test negative in the coming weeks. I trust you experts, though Some test confirmation will be nice

Buddy, many people who stray outside of relationships feel guilty and beat themselves up over it. But feeling guilty does not put you at a risk. You made a mistake mate, it happens and what is done cannot be undone. Put this one down to experience and move on with your life.

If you want to test out at between 4 to six weeks after this for peace of mind you are of course encouraged to do so. You should expect negative results

Kevin.

Re: Protected sex with sex worker... Now worried about flu

I have a question. It's said that symptoms, if any, generally show up 2-4 weeks. Does this mean second week after exposure to fourth week or 2 weeks after exposure to 4 weeks after? My flu just gotten so bad with fever and sore throat that it scares me thinking maybethe tip of the condom broke when she gave me oral (she only locked the top of my penis). But I didn't notice any leaking sperm when I got rid of the condom, though I didn't look for it either. I have never experienced a broken condom so I don't even know what it's like anyway...feeling better but still nevorus.

Re: Protected sex with sex worker... Now worried about flu

Buddy you need to stop right here. HIV is never and I mean never diagnosed by the amount or lack of symptoms a person may or may not have. The problem with websites that list symptoms of an HIV infection is that if somebody gets no symptoms they may believe (wrongly) that they have not been infected with HIV. You need to remove all thoughts that you can in anyway determine your status by self-examinations and cross referencing what you discover to the symptoms listed on websites, you cannot. I have already said it to you but it is worth repeating; HIV is never diagnosed by symptoms, it is diagnosed one way and one way only, by an HIV test.

Condoms are designed to fail catastrophically. Had it failed you would have noticed immediately, so would you partner. They do not develop little holes; they split and leave a ring around your penis.

Buddy, if your throat is sore, go and speak to a doctor and please stop trying to relate perfectly common and normal ailments to an HIV infection that you were never even at a risk of. HIV is not an issue for you and continually trying to put yourself at risk achieves nothing other than to freak yourself out. Testing for you is purely for peace of mind, nothing else.

Let this go please, if I or anybody here thought for one moment you were at even the slightest risk of an HIV infection it would be stated clearly and unequivocally. As it is, it has been stated clearly and unequivocally you were not at risk.

Kevin.

protected sex is just that
it means you need to find something other
then hiv to blame for your symptoms..

working with a doctor will be the best path to
finding a answer.

Re: Protected sex with sex worker... Now worried about flu

Thanks guys for your advice and information. I really appreciate it. I am already taking cold medicines. I will get tested for std soon and hiv later. I will report back when I get the results. Thanks again for answering my questions.
