Hi,
I possess some anxiety over HIV, I've been tested 6 times in the past 2 years (though 3 of those times were reasonable enough to get tested).
I'm now currently living in Thailand, and I'm worried about a night when I was incredibly drunk and I don't remember what I did for large portions of the night and I was away from my friends for roughly 45 minutes.
I have read online that many specialist agree that with modern rapid blood drawn HIV tests that a 42 day (6 week) negative result is conclusive. Others take a much more conservative stance on HIV window periods.
I'm leaving on vacation in a few days, and will be tested at exactly 37.5 days post(possible)exposure, and hoping that I will not have to worry about HIV for the duration of my trip.
Would you consider a 37.5 day HIV test conclusive given the possibility that I didn't even have intercourse?
Thank you in advance for your considered opinion.
If you have any exposure, you should know. I think most of your worries relates to your anxiety. If you cant recall, then go ahead and talk to your partner.
My opinion, ask your partner regarding that night, if nothing as such happened then forget about HIV test.
If and only if, there was any exposure happened, then go ahead for 3 months HIV test for conclusive result.

You never had a risk of HIV. Paranoia and anxiety do not mean you had a risk.
Best advice I can give, forget about this and enjoy your holiday but for the record only a 3 month test is conclusive although a 6 week test is a good indication of your status.
Really, use some common sence and forget about this.
