So I'll start by saying I have a history of ADHD, OCD, hypochondria, depression, and anxiety. Recently, I had a sexual encounter with a young woman, who told me she had never had an STD and was HIV negative. During the encounter I performed oral on her and then we swapped between unprotected oral sex 5 times never more than a minute or two at a time and protected vaginal sex, there was maybe a minute were we weren't protected.
The day after the encounter, I read a story about a woman giving men HIV and that's when it started. I started to panic and over the next two weeks I started reading about HIV and its symptoms and soon experienced a sore throat and cough, which my mother and doctors said was probably allergies given the changing season. Then I had a fever for a few days or at least what I thought was a fever. A week or so later I started having joint pains shortly after reading about them and they wont go away two weeks later. I'm terrified, can someone tell me if I'm panicking needlessly? Also, my hypochondria has kept me out of doctors offices for nearly a year.
So even though I was briefly unprotected vaginally, the chances of me contracting the virus are slim? Thank you for responding. She told me twice that she had never been burned but I haven't spoken to her since maybe October so I have no way of knowing if her status has changed.
There is no point is trying to determine your HIV status on an internet forum. If you engaged in unprotected vaginal intercourse with somebody whose HIV status is unknown you should go for an HIV test. Nobody and in absolutely nobody on any internet forum will ever be able to determine your HIV status for you. Your HIV status is your responsibility, it is down to you to safeguard it and know it. If you feel you have compromised your HIV status, the only way to know it to go for an HIV test.
Although not guaranteed, it is extremely unlikely you will test positive, but to be sure you should test.
