| please help, when to get tested
HIV can be diagnosed by testing your blood for the presence of the virus, however, the test will only detect HIV after three months have passed since you were FIRST INFECTED?
Is this true?
I understand a test at 3 months is conclusive, which i am considering getting purely for piece of mind and to finally end this.
However i now understand that a 3 month test is only accurate since the LAST exposure
I was expsed to bodily fluid in july, i didnt know was hiv positive and so thought nothing of gettingbody fluid on my hands(scraps, nicks etc)
About two weeks later i met my current boyfriend who i have been having sex with without condoms
I have now been told that the bodyfluid was HIV positive.
What if i have passed it onto my boyfriend! Will i need to test 3 months since I last had sex with him or can i still get tested for the 3 months since july??
I understand my risk is megigliable however i feel i need a test for my mental health.
