Ok folks -- I'll try and make this simple and put myself completely out there early. I've been reading through a lot of the information here, and I'm certainly in the right place for both support and straight talk.
Just the facts:
- I had unprotected sex with a woman 7 weeks ago in the Middle East.
- 2 weeks after I had abdominal and joint pain.
- 3 weeks after I had abdominal pain, joint pain and was tired
- 4 weeks after I had all of the above and dry, chapped lips
- 5 weeks after I had all of the above and sore throat and tender soft tissue in my mouth.
- 6 weeks after I was tested for HIV antibody and was negative (42 days, 7 times 6 weeks), and have had unremarkable CBC, hep, syphilis, and other diagnostic tests.
- 1 day after testing began to have lymph pain and mild neck rash
- 7 weeks after exposure, mild GI pain starts to subside, and soft mouth tissue is still tender.
- submitted 2nd HIV antibody test and waiting for results now.
- I was pos EBV 5 months ago (30 days to recover), current EBV neg.
- no fever, no vomiting but have had a mild headache...
Don't mind telling you I'm terribly worried and would like to hear from some of the experts out there.
Thanks!

Apparently you did not read the top sticky threads before you posted. HIV is not diagnosed by symptoms. Only tests can tell you your status, and your tests are pretty much telling you that you don't have HIV. At 6 weeks the tests are 99% accurate.
I would suggest that you have one more antibody test at 3 months to nail down your status. You can expect another negative.

Joggen -- thanks for pointing out that I hadn't read the stickys. Was a bit frantic and it was getting late here and wanted to ask questions. Also appreciate your matter of fact statement about the accuracy, that was comforting. Regardless, I'm still worried, and I'm sure you've heard it a million times before. Not sure I'll be completely satisfied until I see a few more neg tests come back. Must admit the symptoms are presenting themselves like I'm positive. I've had just about all of the typical acute indications, except a fever, diarrhea and night sweats. As of today -- I'm still tired, headache, gassy, dry mouth, chapped lips and have that rash I was mentioning on the left side of my neck. Cumulative, these symptoms have been coming and going for 3-4,weeks. Also feeling a bit disoriented today. I submitted an HIV antibody test to my clinic on Monday 29OCT (exposure was 09SEP). They say it takes a week to get the results...at the time of the test it will have been 50 days....worried until then.

Thats incorrect. Only a 3 month test is conclusive.
Follow the advise from joggen, your test is good news and unlikley to change.
Thanks Apollo. Second HIV 1/2 test 30OCT (7.5 weeks) was neg as well. Got the results today. Still having wild symptoms, but will start exploring elsewhere with my Doc. Latest EBV is showing some elevated Ab IBG and Nuclear serum results. Maybe that's where all of this is coming from...

Hiya. Well if your symptoms were HIV related you would test positive for sure, so that alone should give you confidence enough to ease your concerns. Well again i can say your test results are great news and i wouldnt worry about your 3 month test
