HIV Risk with Symptoms

Hi,

30 days back I had and exposure with a female sex worker. The exposure was condom protected vaginal sex.

After having the intercourse I was very careful to check the condom. I checked the condom whether it is intact or not, but found the condom slipped halfway up from the bottom of the shaft of penis. The condom was hanging like a loose glove in the hand. I then pull the condom and continue to have sex. After some time the sex worker left the place as I was drunk and my penis was very soft. When I checked the condom after the intercourse, the condom was again halfway down to my penis shaft.

Test: I have done a DUO test after 24 days of the exposure---negative

Now I have been suffering from diarreha with red mucous from the 28th days onwards. Also for the last couple of weeks I have swollen lymph node in my right collarbone. I checked with the doctor, after blood test and stool test, they told me I have a viral infection.

Please let me know my situation. I have been very worried since then.

Re: HIV Risk with Symptoms

Your penis head was covered, you were not at risk of hiv, so you were not at risk buds.

Re: HIV Risk with Symptoms

Thanks Sir, but there might be some vaginal fluids in the condom and when I adjust the condom that can came of contact with the penis head.

Also I have been diagnosed with viral infection. Still you think that the viral infection is not related to HIV virus? Also swollen node in right collarbone..I never had all this in my life.

Re: HIV Risk with Symptoms

Hi,

Buddy you had protected sex and no matter what spin you try to add to it, protected sex is exactly that: protected. despite your believe that because you had sex with a sex worker she must have had HIV, the reason sex workers use condoms is protect themselves from you, not you from them.

Your swollen glands and viral infection are not by default due to an HIV infection because a) you have tested negative and b) you never had an exposure.

Do yourself a huge favour and stop allowing your imagination get the better of you, let this go and move on with your life. HIV is not in it, other than in the scenarios you are busy fabricating in your head.

Kevin.

Re: HIV Risk with Symptoms

Thanks a lot sir for your information.

One thing I need to clarify that I tested for HIV after 24 days of the incident, but my symptoms appears after 28 days. And all this viral stomach infection(doctor tested with my stool and blood) and swollen gland just near the collarbone appears together. Also from today I am feeling some swollen area in my back of the shoulder and in my right groin.

Still sir you think that this is not due to HIV, means maybe 24 days is very early to find the virus or antibody in the blood. I know after starting the symptoms, at least I need to wait for 1-2 weeks for HIV testing.

Please share your thoughts on this. Can I go for another testing.

My lymph node in collarbone region bothers me the lot. I am not that much bothered about Viral Stomach.

Re: HIV Risk with Symptoms

Please stop asking for speculative opinions on your ailments, they will not be commented on within this setting. If they’re of concern speak to the doctor about them. They are NOT related to an HIV infection because you had protected sex and were NOT exposed to an HIV infection. There is a sticky thread at the top of this board called "HIV cannot be diagnosed by symptoms" please read it.

You do not need to test for HIV again, you did not need to test at all because you were not exposed to it, period. The only danger you are running is getting a false positive result (this is when somebody tests positive even though they do not have HIV). This happens when people have needless HIV tests. It happens, I have seen it happen. You really do not what this to happen to you.

The only HIV concern you have is the one you are fabricating in your over active imagination. Nobody not a single person as ever contracted HIV, in the entire 30 years it has been around, from having protected sex; you will not make medical history and be the first.

Kevin.
