Question going crazy

so i did a 4th generation hiv test and a pooled naat at 20 days.then a other duo test at 29 days. all negative . but the girl i slept with is hiv plus. and i have almost every symptoms of primary hiv.now i have two questions. if i experience symptoms like that does it mean the naat test would of been positive because my viral load is high?? and second question is how accurate are all my tests now? a 29 days duo test. and naat at 20 days. please answer me

Re: going crazy

Hi Micky. No test is manufactured to be conclusive under 12 weeks although at 29 days a duo is a very good indication of your status.

HIV had no specific symptoms and the more you search on the net the more you will scare yourself. Whilst its hard, you need to take your mind off this and take the latest test as good news. You can take a 6 week test to really get a better indication of your status.

Just a point. You say your partner is positive? Had she had a western blot to confirm this and how did you find this out?

Mickey, she is having unprotected sex when she is hiv positive, thats a criminal offence.

How long has she known, is she on medication?

Question Re: going crazy

now i have to find the way to tell my baby mother.we were on a break and were suppose to go back together. that girl completly ruined my life.i had stomach cramp for a weeks.then night sweat. then a bad metallic taste in my mouth for 10 days with trusth. then a bad flu with sore troat and a rash in my neck. i mean its pretty obvious. i can barely get up the bed now.all those symptoms happenned 2 -6 weeks after exposure also.
i dont want ti be sick for the rest of my life.i tough that if i had symptoms my viral load would of been detectable with naat...and that my duo test with it would of be accurate.seem like everyone have something diffrent to say about that.in my opinion it make no doubt i have hiv

Your 6 week test would be a very good indication of your status, so lets calm down until you get the results, fingers crossed.

You didn't comment on my question.

Is she on medication for HIV, how long has she had HIV and has this been confirmed via a western blot test and by a HIV specialist? All sounds quite sudden to me, from here part?

Thumbs up Re: going crazy

Mickey Calm Down,

I'm just passing your same situation.

I'm experiencing weird symptoms. I have tested last week (week 7) and it was negative. I had unprotected insertive anal with a POZ person too. Today i went to the clinic and tested again.

But there's nothing you can do about your serostatus right now. You have to be patient and wait.

I haven't read in this forum a person changing after 6 weeks. Let's maintain hope....

You are not alone in this

Well she may have had a false positive result, until you get the full facts you cannot be 100% certain of her status. You should ask her in a "helping way" what has happened, she may open up to you in more detail.
