| | Negative HIV test at 8 weeks
I had unprotected sex with a girl I didn't know about 8 weeks ago. After having a rapid oraquick test 3 weeks after exposure, the test came back negative. I then took another oraquick test 7 weeks later and again the test result was negative.
Today I took the test again just to calm my anxiety a bit more, and it has been 8 weeks after exposure and the test result was negative. I took a rapid finger pricking test.
Does the negative finger ***** result at 8 weeks indicate a good likelihood that I am also going to be negative at 12 weeks? I would also like to say that I am on antibiotics and gout tablets to control my uric acidity levels.
I also have one more question, after receiving the test result today I placed my hand on the door knob. I thought I might have gotten some blood on the finger the doctor had pricked but I couldn't tell because there was nothing wet on my finger. My finger was also covered by a bandage. Should I be freaking out about this? After 3 minutes from touching the door knob I went to go wash my hands, does washing my hands or water prolong the life of hiv cells and thus allow the hiv cells to travel my pricked finger? Also does 3 minutes exposure to air kill hiv cells?
Sorry for the long winded story, it's just I'm so anxious and I haven't been able to sleep or eat lately.
