Bad itching-Hormone problem??? - Hormone Problems Message Board

I'm 51, no sex for 14 years (iknow) no discharge but I itch terribly around the vagina and anus. I am so sorry to be so graphic but it is true. I don't have insurance and have tried all the over the counter products and boric acid. any one else have any suggestions. I have had it since Feb. Could it be BV? Also no burning.

I'm of similar age and relationshipness (going on 16 years).
Several possibilities come to mind.
Yeast infection (now treatable over-the-counter).
Allergy (use a fragrance-free detergent and fragrance-free softener to wash your clothes, and an extra rinse).

It's natural to think this could be hormone-induced at this stage of life. And the hormone changes could be a part of it.

But it sounds like you do need to see a doctor to at least rule out infection, etc. Most doctors will have a sliding scale or payment plan for uninsured patients.
