| Going to the doctor
Hey all,
I was on Yasmin for about a year before I got off of it in September 2006. (Side effects.) I had the Essure sterilization procedure done so I figured I didn't need birth control pills anymore. Unfortunately, I feel like everything has gone completely haywire since then! My symptoms are cyclic: so I'm thinking it's hormonal (estrogen dominance) - but they also suggested that it might be my thyroid? (Primary symptoms include extreme anxiety/panic, fatigue, headaches, hair loss, depression, night sweats, feeling like I've had a sinus infection/head cold for four months; etc.) I'll be going in to see the doctor on Wednesday, and I'm not sure what all to expect. I'm assuming a full blood panel will be done - but do you have to specifically request that your hormone levels be tested? I read somewhere that the best time to do that is during the third day of your menstrual cycle..? I just want to go in there armed and ready for anything because I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. Any suggestions on how to make the best of my doctor's visit? I'm seeing an OB/GYN rather than my primary care physician. Thanks for any advice/feedback!!
