prolactin levels

I had my blood test taken about a month ago and my prolactin levels where 27. I did another blood draw and my prolactin level was 59. Is 59 high or is that pretty normal. When i first got my blood drawn it was 27 and I got an mri done and it showed a 4mm micro adenoma so does that mean my adenoma has gotten bigger or is it just producing more prolactin. Very confused. What are the normal levels of prolactin and whats the highest?

Re: prolactin levels

Always get a copy of your blood tests. If you are in the US the doc is required to give you a complete copy is asked.

Each lab has a different test range. The range is not what is "Normal" but a range of results from all that was in the initial test group. They were from 21 to 90 years old.

A 21 year ol will have different normal results that a 90 year old.

In many tests, your results should be in the high end of the range, like for men the testosterone should be in the upper 1/4 of the range while estradiol E2 should be in the lower 1/4 of that range.
