Post Low estrogen, FSH and LH levels - what does this mean?

I am an active 32 year old female who loves triathlons and other sports. I have for the last 3 years experienced a myriad of vague symptoms. As of late, I have been through multiple tests with no answers. The latest info is that my estrogen, FSH and LH levels are too low. The doctor basically stated that I am in menopause. Can anyone give me any insight as to possible causes of all three hormones being low. I am a nurse and somewhat familiar but certainly not an expert. I am seeking advice as a troubled patient. Thanks - kimberly75

Shouldn't your doctor be sending you to an endocrinologist (not sure if that's the right specialist, but some kind of hormone specialist?) It sounds as if he/she didn't give you much information, which I find troubling.
I'll try to find out some info. for you and post again in a few days.

Re: Low estrogen, FSH and LH levels - what does this mean?

i am seeing an endo but he isn't giving me much info to go on. I am also seeing a holistic doctor who has contradicted what the endo has told me. The endo has me getting an MRI today of my head for pituitary tumor but the holistic doctor thinks my hormones are normal.

Re: Low estrogen, FSH and LH levels - what does this mean?

The fsh & LH hormones signal the ovaries to produce estrogen.
If they are low then your estrogen will be low.

Find out why your LH & fsh are too low. Maybe an MRI of the piturity gland will help.

HCG injections will increase the LH & FSH hormone to the ovaries to produce more estrogen.

Your competive sports may be causing your body to produce muscle & endurance testosterone instead of estrogen.

If that is the problem then you must decide if losing good health, sex, & a positive outlook is worth getting more estrogen.

Re: Low estrogen, FSH and LH levels - what does this mean?

I apologize for not getting back to you on this. I couldn't seem to find more info. on why all of these hormones would be low.
Did you find out anything from your MRI?
Have you had other hormones tested, like testosterone?
Are your menstrual cycles regular? Are you on any medications?
I hope you get some answers.
