Exclamation Estrogen Dominance-need encouragement

Hi!
I had surgery a year ago to remove an endometrioma and my right ovary. (this cyst grew freakishly fast, 4cm in 4 months, and was huge at time of surgery, I am told that is extremely rare) I am 44, and have found out I have very bad estrogen dominance and metabolism, and I am working with a doctor to try to balance my hormones, which I get reactions to. (Long story, but I can't tolerate any form of progesterone, which I need, it causes horrible IBS cramping)

I have PTSD regarding the surgery, and I relive it all the time, and live in constant fear that I WILL get another cyst, tumor, or cancer very soon. I am convinced of this, even though currently tests show no cyst right now. I am starting EMDR (a treatment for PTSD) next week to try to help with this.

I have an unusual question.

I have tried many message boards trying to find encouragement regarding estrogen dominance. All I read are horror stories. Is there anyone here who has or knows someone who has estrogen dominance and has NOT developed any serious health problems? Any GOOD news? I need a word of HOPE from someone, as my doctors don't offer much of anything comforting, even seeing what an emotional mess I am.

Any words of encouragement are appreciated!!!

Desperate and Scared, Val

Re: Estrogen Dominance-need encouragement

How high was you estradiol? I was having horrid symptoms last 3 mos. Extreme breast pain for one. Had mammo and ultrasounds and dx of fibrocystic changes. Had a somewhat large uterine fibroid show in Oct. and they told me my estrogen would likely decrease and it would shrink but after fighting for hormone testing (no one seemed concerned about my symptoms but me) it shows my estradiol at 616 (blood test). Just got the results today and going to see gyno next week to address it but not sure what my options are. I am doing bio-identical progesterone creme and it has at least helped the symptoms of pain.

val have you had a thyroid test as this is seen time and time again with e dominance , i have hashsi and i think i have e dominance in this case maybe a coil could help stop the fibroids coming and maybe it would thin the lining of the uterus do you have a huge blood loss like me every month i tried the p cream not sure it did anything but that was the natural mexican yam stuff form the health food shop good luck love katxxxxxim not sure to have the resection op or coil or maybe part of the uterus taken away xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Re: Estrogen Dominance-need encouragement

I had bloodwork done a couple of months ago and my thyroid came back normal though I read somewhere where a person stated it could come back normal and still be screwed up and you found it by looking at a more in-depth thyroid breakdown test. Is that true?

Re: Estrogen Dominance-need encouragement

Had a f/u ultrasound and my 4.2 fibroid has grown to 7.something (tech couldn't give me a copy of report - dr. has to) within 7 months. I also have a 4.something cm functional cyst on one of my ovaries. They took more blood to retest estradiol. Don't have that back yet. I'm getting scared now. I assume all of this growth is from the increased estrogen but can't find anyone with a similar experience that has answered what theirs was caused by. My progesterone was low so I would expect it to be unbalanced. But gyno was a bit perplexed why E would be above the normal high by 200 points.
