| Premature menopause - adrenal and cervical probs

I'm 36 and have recently been diagnosed with premature ovarian failure - early menopause. No familial history of this. I had a cone biopsy of the cervix last week and am waiting for results. My adrenal hormones - acth is low and cortisol is high.
Any ideas what all this could mean? I keep waking at 3 in the morning thinking that there is a cancer in me somewhere - they just need to find it.
My GP and endochrinologist exhibit no degree of urgency at all....but I have a beautiful 4 year old who needs his Mum more than anything in the world.
What direction do you think I should point the doctors in?
I have a consistent pain in the left side of my pelvis (6 months) but scan shows nothing.
What do I do next??
