When I look back and try to find one bright spot during the time my Dad was dying of Stage 4 cancer, I can tell you that it is always Hospice.
They kept my Dad pain free and that meant the world to us. Hospice was there when we needed them and unobtrusive when we didn't. At Hospice House they were always, always compassionate and respectful of our feelings.
Hospice is a blessing as anyone will tell you, but I do understand what the word Hospice indicates to anyone who is told they "qualfy" - and that is one tough piece of information to deal with. I guess in my case it helped to concentrate on the GOOD in Hospice rather than the fact that their presence reinforced what I already knew.
How are YOU doing at this point?? Have you been able to eat and sleep fairly regularly?
Take care of yourself, if you don't have friends who have lost parents keep coming back here for sure - it's
helped me more than anyone could ever know...
