HPV and CIN-1
Hi Guys,
Here is my case: I got Herpes a year ago, skipped my pap last october. Then I did a pap last june and came back as abnormal.
I went to colposcopy and biopsy and another pap smear.
The results came back as CIN-1 and high risk HPV. I am 32, no kids, have herpes, do not smoke, do not take birth control pills. I think I got this HPV from my husband (We got married last April) because his girlfriend before had HPV and had a LEEP. So I think I will exposed again every time we have sex.
My question is:
The doctor suggests me to go for a LEEP in september. I've read that you can wait to see if it regresses on its own. The problem is that I have two risk factors (high risk HPV and herpes) and I do not want this to progress to CIN-2. However I am afraid that if it comes back I will have to go through another LEEP or something else and that this will affect my reproductive system. I've heard that even with the LEEP this will grow back.
Do you guys know what are the chances that the CIN-1 will regress to normal? Have you heard of any study or have a personal experience to share?
Also, is it true that even if I do the LEEP, this will come back?
Thank you for any help! Lucky
