I usually had them once a year. This time I had waited two years for some reason. I don't know how long it was growing in there but it had gotten to the moderate stage. There is mild,moderate,severe. I had to have the leep procedure where they use an electrical wire loop to cut it out. It was on my cervix. After all of that I had a pap every 4 months for 2 years then every 6 months for 1 year then now I am back to going only once a year. So that is why it is very important for someone to go in once a year. So that they can catch this kind of thing before it gets to the severe stage. When it's on the cervix it can turn into cancer. I will never miss a year ever again after going through that.
