| Re: Is there an HPV test?
The only way you would know is if your pap came back abnormal and it was tested for hpv. If your paps come back normal there is no reason to test for it. There are two types, the low risk which would be the visible type on the outside and high risk which is what makes your paps abnormal. Even if you have it, it doesn't mean you will always have abnormal paps. Some may never get an abnormal pap and never know they have it. Always ask for the Thin Prep when getting your pap. It is most accurate and will be tested for hpv if it comes out abnormal.
