So, i was just wondering if it is possible to have cramping like symptoms from HPV or any other STD. i've been having cramps like i'm supposed to get my period, only it's not that time. This has been going on for a week or two. I went to the doctor and they said everything looked normal. But she didn't do a pap smear, only tests for clamidiya and gonorhea. I just found out that a guy i slept with has an ex gf who had HPV so i'm worried. He says he doesn't have anything, but would he know? Advice please!
He wouldn't necessarily know. Most men don't know unless they have the strain that causes warts. Almost 80% of sexually active adults have HPV. The HPV wouldn't cause cramps, however certain strains of HPV does cause dysplasia and can lead to cervical cancer if not watched. As long as you are having your yearly pap EVERY year you have nothing to worry about. Just make sure you get them, and get them every year. When was your last pap?
