Hello all. 26year old, female being treated for symptons of IBS with bentyl with no sucess, I am not sure if that is what I really have. Either way I have lost 40lbs in nearly a year. I think the symptons have been gradually getting worse over the past 3-5 years. I recently found out I have moderate dysplasia, HPV, & HSV2, both a gift from the ex. I am a very stressfull person and cant seem to control my nervous stomach. I cant eat in the morning before I have a movement, however all food tends to be a trigger for me. Everyone's symptons are different, but mostly i just have to go. I am waiting to see a GI doctor. Recently I have found out I have dysplasia, HPV and HSV. There are many causes of chronic diarehha. I have a weak immune system in general and I am worried my problems could be larger and more systematic. The pre-cancerous dyspasia bothers me, and both HPV & HSV2 are viral making my immune system suseptible. Any thoughts and/or suggestions?
Hi K
Sorry to hear you've got so many things going on right now. Couldn't your ex have just given you a really cool new pair of shoes?
I've had dysplasia due to HPV and treated it hollistically and have had good success with it so far (5 years-- knock on wood), so just know that you can get rid of it and it is SOOOOOOOOOOO common. I know very few women who had not had an abnormal pap due to suspected HPV... and I hang with a pretty sexually-conservative croud.
I know nothing about IBS, but how are you treating your herpes?
Also, it is my heartfelt wish that you don't say "I have a weak immune system in general". The mind-body connection is so powerful and your immune system needs all of the help it can get, so send it some thoughts of strength, support and virus-fighting ability.
How are you treating your herpes at the moment? How long have you had it?
Sorry to hear about your troubles. I would ask the GI doc to test you for yeast overgrowth (candidas) and parasites. I was having a lot of stomach issues and it was that. Although a health practioner diagnosed that and treated with natural/homeopathic supplements. It took a while and i didn't really change my diet. It probably would have cleared up more quickly if i had though.
Good luck at the GI doc, there are many other meds besides bentyl.
Well if you have a poor immune system outbreaks are more likely and therefore makes me more suseptible to other infections. As far as the HSV I just recently found out and am now taking Valtrex, but I believe I have had it for at least 5years and perhaps going untreated for so long has caused permanant damage to my nervous system (neuralgia). This may help explain the IBS because I cant seem to control my nervous stomach half of the time. There is evidence of nerve damage as a result of IBS and HSV2.
