Re: hpv vaccine

I have not ready anyting about that. In fact, I have only read the opposite (that the current vaccine does nothing to help with any strains of the virus you already have, and it only protects against 4 strains, btw, but the most important 4).

The american gov't's Center for Disease Control has good info out on it, check them out.

Re: hpv vaccine

It's just too new to have anybody here have any first hand experiece with it. My own dermatologist seems to think the vaccine is a good idea, even for people who are already exposed. The idea being your body will much more rapidly build the anti-bodies it needs to fight the virus. At this time, the vaccine is licenced only for girls ages 9 to 26, and is currently being tested on women of all ages and men as well.

The CDC is currently debating whether recommend the vaccine.

Bottom line, talk to your doctor. If they recommend it, I would seriously consider it, not just for the strain of HPV you have, but for the 3 others.
