oral sex and throat warts from low-risk hpv??
i was just browsing the internet and saw a lot of things about throat warts. my boyfriend had a genital wart on his penis and i gave him oral sex. is it possible that the warts can go to my throat? if its possible...how common is this? GREAT....more things to worry about.... since we both obviously have the hpv virus that causes genital warts, does it mean we can never have oral sex again?? this is so confusing.

It is very very rare and when it happens the person has a compromised immune system. The virus usually cannot survive in the mouth/throat due to the acidic environment. Just like you cannot get genital warts on your hands, or other parts of your body. They like the environment in your genitals, that's why they are called genital warts.
