Hey let say you have recently start dating a female and you to have not been sexually active as of yet. And becomes diognost with high risk HPV, the type that causes cervical cancer and not the warts. You two have not had any sexual contact, will sex always be out of the question if your trying to protect your self from comming in contact with the deieas? Can it be transmitted by suliva or if she proforms oral sex on you? Now the doctor says 2 years the virus normally goes away, does that mean it is no longer contagious?if one of you were in this situtation what would you do?
Answer: No. There is now a preventative vaccine which is 100% effective against HPV. It is called Gardasil and came out this summer.
Mind: It is PREVENTATIVE, not therapeutic. It will protect her against getting HPV types 6,11, 15, and 16(the latter two cause cervical cancer) but once she has it, it is useless.
It is produced by Merck.
