HPV question

Hi. I got HPV about 1 year ago, was treated 9 months later, and the warts I had went away. I know that the infection usually flushes itself out of your system (or at least suppresses it to a non-contagious state) within 1-2 years after infection. I'm hoping this is the case with me, but I have a question about it, if anyone knows the answer.

I have 2 warts on my hand. This is obviously a different strain of HPV and did not cause the genital warts. If the strain causing these warts has not flushed out of my system, does that also mean that the strain causing the genital warts has not? Are these two strains totally independt of each other or no? Thanks for anyone who can help.

Re: HPV question -follow up

Sorry. I should have specified that the warts I had treated were genital warts on the shaff of the penis.

Re: HPV question

There are well over 100 different strains. I believe they all act independently of each other, and what is going on with one has nothing to do with what happened to your other.
