Question HPV - Question About Having Sex While You Have Warts - We Are Monogamous

Hello all....
I was diagnosed with HPV almost 2 years ago. I had a boyfriend of a year who turned out to be a real liar, he sure put on a good show. Anyway, the guy I have been with for almost 2 years now is simpling amazing. We plan to be married and spend the rest of our lives together. He doesn't care that I have this disease, he loves me no matter what. At first we used condoms, then he told me he loved me and didn't care, so we don't use them anymore. Here's my problem...I had the warts removed once, but now there are more. I hate the sight of them and they make me feel gross and embarrassed. He only has 1 or 2 near the base of his penis and they are very small. Since we both have them, does it matter if we have intercourse and/or oral sex. I know he got it from me and we have been monogamous from the moment we met. So aside from my cosmetic concerns about my warts, is it okay for us to have normal sex life? I just don't have the money to pay for another surgery. I got stuck with a lot of bills last time, even though I have insurance. My doc doesn't do the procedure in her office, I had to go to the hospital to have it in an operating room. My understanding is that some docs remove the warts in their office, which is much cheaper.

So to make a long story short....we are happy and in love and we both have HPV. So is it okay for us to have intercourse/oral sex?

Re: HPV - Question About Having Sex While You Have Warts - We Are Monogamous

I just thought I'd kick in my comment about the warts. I had a boyfriend who cheated on me long ago and gave me two warts. I had them removed in college with the nurses available there. I don't live in the States so it was fully funded, but she just used an acid and removed them from the surface. This was in 1998 and have not had any since and all my paps have come back normal. I might have just gotten lucky, who knows!! But as for the sex, well if you both have them, I don't see why not. But if you are to have them removed. I would have both of you do it. Just my thought.!

Since you both already have this particular strain of HPV, there is no reason to not have a normal sex life. It's not like you can keep reinfecting each other. One of you may rid yourselves of the warts before the other one does, but this still has no effect on the fact that both of you have/had it. It's like the chicken pox. You have it once, your body deals with it, then that's it (assuming your body deals with it).

Go ahead and have all the relations you want with you partner.
