| Re: HPV & telling new partner?
Men are carriers. They are not effected by the disease. There is a good chance that he may already have it but since there is not a test out there for men to see if they have it or not there is no way of telling unless they develop the signs. It can increase a man's risk of getting genital cancers, but these cancers are not common. Around 1,530 men in the U.S. were diagnosed with cancer of the penis in 2006 and around 1,910 men got a diagnosis of anal cancer. That's a far cry from the amount of women that are infected and have problems from the disease. It's 17 times higher for gay and bisexual men to get it.
If they have any signs it is warts. That only happens for 1% of men.
