I went to the doctor yesterday and was diagnosed with genital warts. The doctor put some acid stuff on the warts(it's like a white coating) and told me to come back in 3 weeks for another application. Has anyone else had this? When I shower am I supposed to wash it off, or try and leave it on? How long do the warts take to go away? When can I safely have sex again? And will it ever be safe for me to have sex with my bf and have him not catch the virus?? thanx in advance

the acid wasnt a white coating, the acid made your skin turn white. it will eventually turn into a scab. u can wash it, treat it as if its not there. its not going to come off or anything, the acid has already done its job. u may have to go back to the doc in case the bumps didnt go away for a second treatment. take vitamins (a womens daily multi vitamin) to help from it ever breaking out again, the vitamins will build up your immune system. U can have sex when the warts are gone. If you've already been having sex then your bf probably already has it, but he may never have a break out. if he does they will be like little white bumps/or bumps with white around it on his shaft or near it. condoms dont matter since the bumps arent inside of u, there on the outside where condoms dont protect skin.

My doc said mine looked like.. maluscus (sp?)... they looked like skin tags.. i dont know.. i think i might take my risk and say its warts..

I had the same thing years ago. I had quite a few warts and it was such a horrible experience for me.....I just felt so gross. BUT, after 2 treatments they never came back. That was over 7 years ago. I think they say that smoking and stress can cause more breakouts so take your vitamins and don't smoke or freak out. Good luck.
