HPV 39 is one of the "high-risk" strains of HPV. It can cause cervical cancer in women, but it's very rare. There is no cure at this time for HPV, though there is a vaccine which can prevent infection of some of the "high-risk" strains of HPV. However, even though there is no cure, in most cases, your immune system will clear the viral infection on its own. It is important though to have regular Pap tests to screen for any HPV-caused changes.
