Don't worry, like the poster after me said, the worst part of having HPV are the WHAT IFs.
Condoms will not protect against HPV. They'll help, but because it's transmitted through skin-to-skin contact with the infected area, condoms are kind of pointless for prevention of it.
From what I understand with HPV, even though you'll read conflicting information on the web, it will stay with you for life, but it will be like after you've had chicken pox... your body continues carrying the strain in order to create antibodies and eventually make you immune to it. Medical professionals seem to think that your body will take care of HPV on its own and make it disappear within a year or two, tops. It's controllable. And you can always get it treated.
I wouldn't worry about not being able to have children. HPV won't prevent you from that, and most people who have it and are honest with their partners from the beginning don't have too many issues. I think the scare of having to tell someone about it is the worst part, but if you explain to them that most sexually active people will get HPV at some point in their life, it makes it sound a lot less worse. It's really not the nightmare you think it is
Chin up! You'll feel better after you see the doctor.
